This Privacy Policy describes the information processed by clownwall, how that information is used, what information may be public, and what information is treated as private operational or account-safety data.

clownwall is a public feed for short posts, quick replies, and lightweight reactions. The service is designed to keep public surfaces simple while maintaining account security, abuse prevention, media handling, moderation, support, and legal review controls.

Information Provided To The Service

clownwall may process information provided during account creation, account management, content creation, support requests, and ordinary use of the service, including:

  • username
  • display name
  • email address
  • password authentication data
  • optional phone number
  • optional profile picture and banner image
  • optional public profile city and country
  • profile settings
  • notification preferences
  • posts
  • replies
  • reactions
  • honks
  • reports and moderation details submitted through the service
  • account support communications

Passwords are stored as password hashes. Plain-text passwords are not stored.

Public Information

Some parts of clownwall are public by design. Public information may include:

  • username
  • display name
  • profile picture and banner
  • public bio
  • public profile city and country, if added
  • public posts
  • public replies
  • public post and reply media
  • public reaction and honk activity where the product displays it
  • follower and following counts or lists when the account settings make them public

Public posts and replies may be visible to people who are not logged in. Private information should not be posted to public areas of the service.

Account Visibility Settings

Accounts are public by default. Account privacy can be changed from account settings.

Private account behavior includes:

  • non-followers cannot view private profile timelines
  • follow requests require approval
  • account owners retain access to their own profile and controls
  • privacy and visibility settings are enforced by clownwall

Follower and following count/list visibility can also be controlled from settings.

Location Information

clownwall uses two separate location concepts.

Public Profile Location

Account profiles may include an optional public city and country. This information is entered as profile information and may appear on the public profile when added.

Private Location Signals

clownwall may use general location signals derived from network and request information. These signals are treated as private account-safety and operational information.

General location signals may be used for:

  • account security
  • abuse prevention
  • support
  • legal, regulatory, and government-request review
  • detection of unusual account activity
  • feed relevance where available

clownwall does not request precise browser GPS location for feed relevance. Network-based location does not auto-fill public profile city or country.

Private location signals may include:

  • approximate country
  • approximate region
  • approximate city
  • source of the location signal
  • first seen time
  • last seen time
  • seen count
  • optional hashed IP value

Post origin country may be stored privately when available. It is not shown on public posts or profiles.

Cookies And Sessions

clownwall uses cookies and similar session storage for:

  • account sign-in
  • session protection
  • ordinary browser operation of the service

Logging out clears the clownwall session. If sign-in used a third-party provider such as Google, that provider's separate browser session may remain active until ended with that provider.

Media And GIFs

Uploaded images are processed before storage. clownwall validates image type and size, strips image metadata through re-encoding, resizes images, converts them to WebP, and stores them securely. Public media uses public media URLs.

GIFs selected through the GIF picker may come from a third-party provider. clownwall stores the information needed to display selected GIFs in the service.

Information Collected Automatically

During use of clownwall, the service may automatically process:

  • IP address or network-derived information
  • request headers needed for security and routing
  • device and browser information
  • pages and features used
  • timestamps
  • account activity events
  • error or operational logs
  • media upload information
  • moderation and safety logs

This information is used to operate, secure, debug, moderate, and improve the service.

Use Of Information

clownwall uses information to:

  • create and manage accounts
  • authenticate users
  • show public posts, replies, profiles, and feeds
  • deliver notifications
  • process images
  • prevent spam, abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access
  • enforce community rules
  • investigate reports
  • provide support
  • maintain security logs
  • comply with legal obligations
  • test and improve performance and reliability

Information Sharing

clownwall may share information with:

  • service providers that host, store, deliver, secure, or process the service
  • email delivery providers used for verification, reset, magic link, security, and email-change messages
  • media storage and delivery providers
  • GIF provider services when GIF search or selection is used
  • legal, safety, or law enforcement recipients when required or when necessary to protect users, the public, or clownwall

clownwall does not sell personal information. clownwall does not run advertising.

Moderation And Safety

Posts and replies may be reported through the service. Authorized reviewers may review reports, dismiss reports, remove content, restrict accounts, ban accounts, and take other action needed to protect users and the service.

Access to sensitive safety information is limited and logged.

Account Deletion

Account deletion may be requested from account settings.

Account deletion:

  • requires explicit confirmation
  • deletes active product data where practical
  • deletes linked authentication records where practical
  • clears clownwall-owned session cookies
  • removes or cleans up account media where practical
  • masks deleted public identity
  • permanently reserves the deleted username
  • allows the deleted email address to be used for a new account

Some deleted posts or replies may remain as deleted-content placeholders when needed to preserve visible thread context for replies by other users. Deleted-content placeholders do not show the original deleted content.

Limited records may be retained when needed for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, safety logging, or dispute handling.

Banned Or Disabled Accounts

Banned or disabled accounts cannot log in or use active sessions. Banned or deleted accounts cannot complete sensitive verification or reset flows.

Account, moderation, and security records may be retained for a reasonable period as required for safety, abuse prevention, legal compliance, safety logging, or dispute handling. Records needed to fulfil legal obligations or protect against active disputes may be kept longer.

Choices

Account settings and service controls may be used to:

  • update profile information
  • choose whether the account is public or private
  • control follower and following visibility settings
  • update notification preferences
  • change username within product limits
  • change email through verification
  • remove optional phone number information
  • delete the account
  • report content
  • block users

Children

clownwall is not intended for children under 13. If a country or region requires a higher minimum age for online services, that age requirement must be met to use clownwall.

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India.

Changes To This Policy
