Help Center

This Help Center summarizes what clownwall is for, key features, account controls, safety tools, and support paths.

What clownwall is for

clownwall is built for short posts, quick reactions, and having fun without chasing validation.

Earlier social platforms had a simple charm: quick, weird, funny posts; one sharp thought, one bad take, one line that somehow said enough. Today, many feeds are full of news, politics, long threads, corporate wisdom, and posts that feel assembled in a meeting.

clownwall is here to bring back the fun and keep things simple. It is not built around a complicated algorithm that forces content on you. You can open the feed, follow people, search, browse tags, check profiles, and find the content you want without the app trying to turn every visit into a forced recommendation loop.

Post what made you laugh, what annoyed you, what sounded brilliant for five seconds, or what deserves a better reaction than a normal like button. Keep it short, react honestly, and have fun.

Core Actions

Core actions:

  • Funny: something you liked, laughed at, or think deserves clown status
  • Wall: painfully stupid or a bad take
  • Honk: repost or amplify
  • More Nonsense: short replies

Feed Access

Logged-out visitors can view the public feed.

An account is required to:

  • post
  • reply
  • react
  • honk
  • follow
  • report
  • manage account settings

Posts And Replies

clownwall keeps posts and replies short on purpose. The limits are part of the product, not an accident.

Current limits:

  • main posts: 350 characters
  • reply depth: two levels below the main post
  • main posts: up to 4 media attachments
  • replies: up to 2 media attachments

The goal is to bring back the fun of short social posts: quick thoughts, funny observations, bad ideas, and reactions that do not need a long explanation.

Replies are short so the focus stays on the original post and the reaction, not long debates. Reply-to-reply depth is limited for the same reason. Deep nested threads get hard to read, harder to moderate, and usually stop being fun. If a reply needs a whole new branch, it probably deserves to be its own post.

Video uploads are not currently supported.

Media And GIFs

JPEG, PNG, and WebP image uploads are supported.

clownwall validates uploaded images, strips image metadata through re-encoding, resizes images, converts them to WebP, and stores them securely.

GIFs may be selected through the built-in GIF picker. Direct GIF and video uploads are not currently supported.

Public And Private Profiles

Accounts are public by default.

If an account is public:

  • the public profile can be viewed
  • public posts and replies can be viewed
  • public profile fields may appear based on settings

If an account is private:

  • non-followers cannot view the private profile timeline
  • follow requests require approval
  • existing controls and owner-only information remain available

Follower and following count/list visibility can be controlled from settings.

Profile Location

An optional public city and country can be added to the profile.

This profile location is separate from private location signals used for account security, abuse prevention, and legal or government-request review.

clownwall does not use network-based location to fill in public city or country.

Feed Localization And Location Privacy

clownwall may use general location signals from network information for account security, abuse prevention, legal or government-request review, and feed relevance.

  • Precise GPS location is not used
  • Network-derived location is not shown on the public profile
  • Public profile location only appears if added in settings

Authorized reviewers can review reports and may:

  • dismiss the report
  • remove the post or reply
  • ban a user
  • take other moderation action when needed

Reports must not be used to harass users or punish harmless disagreement.

Blocking Users

Blocking is silent.

When an account is blocked:

  • follow relationships are removed
  • visibility and interaction checks apply in both directions where relevant
  • the blocked user is not notified

Some deleted posts or replies may remain as deleted-content placeholders when needed to preserve visible replies by other users. Deleted-content placeholders do not show the original deleted content.

Banned Or Deleted Accounts

Banned or deleted accounts cannot log in or use active sessions.

Banned or deleted accounts cannot complete sensitive verification or reset flows.

Some records may be retained for security, abuse prevention, safety logging, legal compliance, or moderation review.

Reporting Copyright Or Copied Content

clownwall does not create or control content posted by users. Claims involving copyrighted work or original content posted without permission may be sent to [email protected].

  • name and contact information
  • a description of the original work owned or created
  • a link to the specific post on clownwall believed to infringe rights
  • confirmation that the sender is the rights holder or is authorised to act on behalf of the rights holder

clownwall will review the claim. If the claim is valid, content may be removed and action may be taken on the account that posted it. The account may also be notified.

False claims or misuse of this process may violate the Community Guidelines.
